Rokkasho Reprocessing Plant, the only commercial reprocessing facility in Japan, was applied for the approval of reprocessing business change to follow the new regulatory requirements on January 7, 2014. After several times of corrective applications, the end of the conformity review is nearing.

六ヶ所再処理施設は、国内唯一の商用再処理施設であり、新規制基準対応として、 2014年 1月 7日に事業変更許可を申請し、その後の補正を経て、現在は審査の終盤に差し掛かっている。新規制基準対応では、施設の安全性を向上させるために、落雷、内部火災、外部火災等への対策の強化を図るとともに、地震、竜巻、火山、溢水等への対策を追加している。さらに、設計上定める条件より厳しい条件により発生する可能性がある事故（以下、「重大事故」という。）に対して対策を追加している。本報では、現在行われている適合性審査の概要について述べる。...
